On this episode of Deep Cuts, we keep on truckin’ through the month of Deadtober. This episode features a special guest host Caroline from Caroline’s Cause Corner.  Caroline brings her friend Dave on we are Grateful to be joined by luminaries from the Grateful Dead’s circle including best selling author  Joel Selvin, who has penned such fantastic books as The Haight: Love, Rock, and Revolution and his most recent work  Altamont: The Rolling Stones, the Hells Angels, and the Inside Story of Rock’s Darkest Day Joel discusses what it was like to grow up in the Bay Area and be immersed in the Grateful Dead and Deadhead culture from the very beginning. 

Caroline also interviews Howard Cohen, Mickey Hart’s personal manager, and longtime Deadhead.

We listen to some of Caroline’s personal favorite Dead tracks on vinyl including Ripple, and Eyes of the World and wrap things up with a passionate conversation with Jay Blakesberg longtime photographer of the Grateful Dead and author of fantastic pictorial books like  Fare Thee Well: Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Grateful Dead and Hippie Chick: A Tale of Love, Devotion & Surrender Jay is a fantastic photographer and makes for a great interview.
